Police today appealed for information after a series of burglaries in the Henley area.
At around 1.45pm on Saturday, a digital camera and jewellery were stolen from the residential area at the Shoulder of Mutton pub in Playhatch.
Det Con Georgina Bradley said: “A man was seen near to the door that leads to the residential area just before the items were stolen.
"He is olive skinned with a mole on his right cheek with short dark hair and had a European accent and possibly a stammer. He was wearing a black tracksuit-style zip up top and black trousers.
"I am keen to speak to this man and urge him, or anyone who may know who he is, to contact me.”
Between 2.30pm and 2.45pm a man fitting the same description was seen in the Three Horseshoes pub. He was seen to walk in the direction of the living area doorway.
It was later noticed that about £200 had been stolen from the office and some money had been stolen from a safe.
At around the same time a property in Walton Avenue was burgled. The thief walked in through an insecure door and stole a handbag and two laptops taken from the office.
Det Con Bradley added: “I suspect that these burglaries could be linked and Walton Avenue is close to the Three Horseshoes pub.
“The burglar might have been in a vehicle and I would urge anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area to contact the police.”
Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to contact DC Bradley at Abingdon police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you don’t want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
