Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealer Ryfield Oxford is celebrating the news that Jeep has taken the top spot in three categories of the UK’s biggest on and off-road test of 4x4 vehicles.
4x4 Magazine reviewed 67 vehicles for its annual ‘4x4 of the Year’ test and awarded marks in ten key buying areas: on-road, off-road, comfort, safety, economy, loading, interior, styling, towing and value-for-money.
John Carroll, editor of 4x4 Magazine, said: “This test aims to put the latest vehicles through a rigorous test and measure them in real world on- and off-road situations.
"In a market swamped with new 4x4s, Jeep has retained its mastery in three key segments — budget, mid-size and extreme — with the Patriot, Cherokee and Wrangler.”
Laurence Mills, dealer principal at Ryfield Oxford of Shipton-on-Cherwell, said: “Our range of Jeep vehicles boasts a breadth of talent second to none when it comes to offering both on and off-road class-leading performance and this is why Jeep continues to be one of the world’s finest 4x4 brands.”
The Jeep Patriot, priced from £15,995, took top spot in the budget 4x4 of the year category, while the completely revised Jeep Cherokee clinched the number one position in the mid-size 4x4 group.
Winner of the extreme 4x4 class was the Jeep Wrangler, which was relaunched in 2007 with enhanced on-road driving manners coupled with the flexibility of automatic transmission and a powerful diesel engine.
