The art of a great education The Oratory School is the only all boys' Catholic day and boarding senior school in the UK, and educates boys of all backgrounds and faiths.
The school is housed in acres of prime Oxfordshire countryside and provides small classes with close supervision. A full range of academic subjects are taught, including Mandarin in the Sixth Form. All three sciences are taught separately.
At the heart of the school is the Christian vision of its distinguished founder, John Henry Cardinal Newman, soon to be declared 'Blessed' by Pope Benedict XVI, a step nearer towards his predicted sainthood.
Housemasters play an important role in the daily lives of the boys, both for boarders and day boys. There is a resident chaplain and more than three quarters of the staff live on site, or in the village.
Fantastic sporting facilities include rugby and football pitches, grass and hard tennis courts, a golf course, a Thames boathouse, indoor shooting range and real tennis court.
The school is justifiably proud of producing both county and national sportsmen and was awarded The Daily Telegraph and Norwich Union Independent School of the Year for Sport Award 2007.
This year, the school has come within the top 30 independent boys' schools as listed by The Times.
