The Environmental Information Exchange (EiE) is set to off its expertise at getting businesses to take action on the environment.
Its annual showcase on Saturday 27 September 2008 will be an expose of simple, practical, cost-saving environmental improvements that local businesses have made with EiE’s help.
EiE works with Oxfordshire and South East England businesses to reduce their energy, waste, and water use. The showcase displays are an interactive hands-on experience to show members of the public what can be done at work to help the environment.
From reporting leaks to saving paper, from the latest low energy lighting to ways of measuring carbon emissions, the free showcase will feature an array of great ideas. The showcase also highlights the achievements of Oxfordshire businesses from ofices to pubs that have successfully implemented excellent environmental practices with EiE’s help.
The exhibition will also form part of Oxford Inspire’s Planet Earth Season which promotes Oxfordshire's status as an international leader in climate change and sustainability science.
Michael Esvelt, Head of EiE said: "We are so busy working with organisations this is our once a year chance to celebrate the amazing steps forward made by local businesses and schools we have worked with. "We are delighted to have a number of partners displaying further information at the Showcase. You can’t walk out without a few new ideas to bring to work".
EiE’s Environmental Showcase 2008 will be in the main hall at Oxford Brookes University, Gypsy Lane, Headington OX3 0BP from 12-3pm and is free of charge. Details from Kate Agha on 01865 483614 or kagha@brookes.ac.uk
