Firefighters were called to the Oxford Playhouse after a faulty light fitting set off an alarm.
An electrician was called out to repair the light, which sits in the foyer of the Beaumont Street venue, following the alarm at 8.30am yesterday morning, Oxfordshire fire and rescue said. No one was injured in the incident.
