The Oxford Brookes network grows with every year. This year's graduates join a group of more than 100,000 former students who live and work in every corner of the world. The University invites all alumni from this fantastically diverse community to stay in touch and up to date by registering with the new Oxford Brookes alumni website at www.brookes.ac.uk/alumni Based on ideas from alumni around the world, the dynamic site makes it easy to stay connected with the University. News, events and reunion information are all easily accessible. The site gives alumni access to a sophisticated alumni directory, enabling graduates to tell the community about their next steps, read the stories of other alumni or find out what social networks their former classmates are visiting.
Brookes academic staff are helping to draw up some engaging reading lists for graduates who are keen to stay in touch with the subjects they studied at University as well as the friends they made. There is information on building Z maintaining associations with sports groups, student societies and international networks. There are polls to take and links to a host of YouTube videos, Flickr photos and Brookes based Facebook groups. Alumni can also take advantage of the Brookes 'Email for Life' offer, and can find out how to get involved with the University’s mentoring or volunteering projects.
"The feedback we've had on the site so far has been fantastic," explains Ben Fitch, Alumni Development Manager. "We regularly get updates from alumni about new Facebook groups or reunion events, and it's great to be able to offer the things our alumni want to know about. We're pleased to provide a website like this as another tool to help build our community, and to welcome our graduates back to the University."
The 'my alumni' website is only part of what Oxford Brookes offers its graduates. To discover all the details, including how to apply for a free Alumni Membership card and how to take advantage of the many alumni benefits, graduates should register at www.brookes.ac.uk/alumni. Those who register before 31 October 2008 will be eligible to win £1 00 of iTunes vouchers.
