These self-appointed charity workers made life for elderly people a little more comfortable.
They spent a month collecting a shed-full of bits and pieces which they sold at a jumble sale in 1980.
The sale, organised by the boys and held at Simon Parfitt's home in Ambleside Drive, Headington, Oxford, raised £47 for Help the Aged.
To advertise the sale and ask for jumble, they printed 300 leaflets which they pushed through letterboxes around Headington.
We know the names, ages and addresses of the three main organisers — Simon Parfitt, 13, Kevin Parker, 12, of Headley Way, and Simon Hedges, 12, of Coniston Avenue.
But we don't know who is who in the picture — and who are their three friends?
Simon Hedges told the Oxford Mail at the time: "We are really pleased with the amount we raised.
"We had a sale for the Blue Peter Cambodia Appeal last year and wanted to do something different this year."
