This October the Playhouse will be celebrating 70 years of being situated in its Beaumont Street home. With much celebrating to be done everyone here is working frantically hard preparing for the star-studded gala nights and other such fantastic events we have in store.
The build-up to the 70th is something quite special, over the last couple of days alone we have had the likes of Libby Purves and David Wood in the building helping to recount memories of times gone by, which will then be used in exhibitions, documentaries and newspaper stories in the coming months.
Personally, I hope the Oxford community really gets behind these 70th birthday celebrations – the Playhouse has played such a central role in the theatrical side of the city and University and it deserves a good, firm pat on the back.
I hope to see you all at the celebrations!
