There are not many gardening jobs I do not enjoy, but mowing the lawn is one of them. It's not a job you can put off for a week or two because it just gets worse. Of course, the neighbour mows his lawn, and you are left with no alternative but to do yours too.
An article in today's Daily Telegraph suggests we should be ready to mow our lawns all winter. I was only thinking the same this weekend after being shocked at the rate of growth of my lawn over the last seven days.
Still, it is swings and roundabouts, I hardly got the mower out at all over the summer. It seems that mowing is to become a winter chore rather than a summer one.
