Until the lashing rain and wind apparently pulled most of it down a couple of days ago, there was a large billboard poster on the Botley Road promoting the Brunel Rooms nightclub in Swindon.
Nothing wrong with that, you might say. Generally, I would agree with you.
But when the poster stated that the first 200 females to turn up on the night would get in free, it got my back up somewhat.
Mercifully, my nighclubbing days - few and far between as they ever were - are now a comfortable number of years behind me but were I planning a night at Swindon's finest, I'd be more than a little miffed that some people were getting in for nothing based soley on their sex.
I thought that sort of thing was illegal.
