I am still a bit upset that the so-called Oxford United fans failed to hit the target in the fans v players penalty shoot-out at the Kassam Stadium today.
This was an ideal opportunity to put one over the first-team squad, but they blew it.
The U's named their five first-choice penalty takers, a measure of how much they didn't want to lose - and when Adam Murray missed the first spot-kick, victory was there for the taking.
But it wasn't to be and now attention turns to the new season.
Darren Patterson had plenty of people worried - including me - with the lack of signings before the players reported back, but now that the five-day Army training camp is over, you watch the new faces pour in!
And the vibes are that this could be the year - one big-name striker and the 9-1 on offer at the bookies will be very tempting...
