a week makes....
Last week I ran the eight mile Boars Hill route in torrential rain and flood condition - today it was positively equatorial conditions with the searing heat and cloudless sky.
I headed out today expecting a gentle jog to help me recover from the exertions of Sunday but as it transpired I was ok - probably because I didn't get above a jog during the run at Blenheim.
I wasn't on top form but managed ok - and no sign of the killer abdominal pain that afflicted me during the triathlon. That means the diagnosis of a stitch is 100 per cent accurate and I can put it down to the learning process.
Well done by the way to my colleague the Tri Chick and other Oxford athletes who won medals at the World Championships in Vancouver this weekend.
It sounded a bit shocking with the lack of a swim for the men and short swim for the ladies - the water was too cold apparently - but outdoor sports are at the mercy of the elements.
