The last few days have been a little crazy what with two races (albeit sprint ones) and a fair bit of training. I was up at 6am this morning to get to the lake for a pre-work swim. 3km, a quick shower and a bowl of muesli later I was at my desk here @ Oxford Mail HQ and right now I can't say I'm in a rush to get home - because I know a hellish session on the turbo (indoor bike trainer) awaits me :-(
I raced at the Eton Supersprints on Sunday and was pleased to win my age group as well as post the fastest women's time of the weekend (57:58) for the 400m swim-20km bike-5km run. That was my last race before the Worlds so it was a great confidence booster to feel so strong and race well.
I was then in action again last night at Oxford Tri's bike and run (BaR) training session in Bletchingdon which saw 30+ triathletes tackle a 1500m run followed by a 20km bike then a 5km run. It's a punishing event at the best of times, so I was a little concerned Sunday's race might come back to haunt me, but not so. I smashed my PB by over a minute and in doing so broke the women's club record. All good....Cheers to Ozzer and CP for their sterling support as ever. And good luck to CP for Ironman Lanzarote this weekend. Enjoy Mirador Del Rio for us Choccie Pete ;-)
