Back to the lake this morning.
Alarm rang at 6.10am which was nasty as I have gone soft in my old age. This time last year my then one-year-old daughter frequently had us awake at that time but being awoken by alarm to dip in Cassington gravel pit seems harsh.
Still, I managed it and was in my wetsuit and in the water by 6.45am. After the cold water shock it is a nice experience ploughing round the lake so early in the morning.
I usually pick a nice couple of songs to sing in my head as it helps things along this morning it was The Libertines: Can't Stand Me Now and The Stokes: New York City Cops. Couple of verses later and you find you have done a couple of hundred metres.
Problem for me now is that I am pretty knackered sat at my desk and could quite easily have a little sleepy.
Big run yesterday (eight miles), swim this morning (1km) and then a cycle to work (seven miles). Sometimes I think I am not cut out for this lark.
I lap 'sprint' of University Parks later - don't think I will be threatening my PB somehow.
