Went to Butterfly World last Saturday and little one loved it - especially the fish strangely enough.
While we were there we spent half an hour in the soft play area and I got talking to another mum who had a little boy.
This happens a lot now.
Before she came along I would go places, do what I had to do and come home.
Now, much to the amusement of Himself, wherever I go I usually end up making a new 'friend'.
I say 'friend' because we really only talk ahout our children/their toilet/eating habits/and work and then we say goodbye and probaby never meet again.
This particular woman asked if my daughter had started throwing tantrums yet.
I said No, rather proudly.
She smiled and said it was inevitable.
- Yesterday I got the first glimpse of what she meant.
We went to playgroup at lunchtime and granted she hadn't had her sleep, so she wasn't in the best of moods.
When she spotted there were cakes on the counter she wanted one, so I bought her one.
Then she wanted another one and that's where the trouble started.
I said No.
She hollered.
Then she really went for it.
All the other mums looked - some with empathy.
I said No again and tried to tempt her onto the slide.
She was having none of it and started shouting "Cake!" "Cake!" (which was kind of funny and kind of embarassing.)
Anyway, she must have been making a right racket because the lady who runs the playgroup offered her a biscuit.
She took two and gave me a smile.
There may be trouble ahead.
