Training is going well - I'm logging about 14-15 hours a week at the moment - and I've been concentrating on improving my running, as it was that which cost me gold at the World Champs last season.
It was good to see the training starting to pay off at the weekend when I raced at the Wokingham Half Marathon, smashing my PB by three minutes to finish in 1:27.08. It was a beautiful day to race - one of those races when everything just seemed to feel easy - and the sunshine certainly helped.
Since my last blog, I've also been fortunate enough to secure another sponsor - Morris Owen - a firm of chartered accountants in Swindon who will be supporting me throughout the 2008 season. Having already sponsored a Swindon speedway star in previous years, Morris Owen is always keen to help local athletes, and it's certainly good news having them on board. All is looking good for a successful 2008...
