Well Christmas was certainly different this year.
Littl'un might not really get the whole Santa thing yet, but she definitely had a great time with all her new toys, eating party food and playing with all her cousins until she quite literally passed out from exhaustion.
Boxing Day we had all the family here and it was mental, but really good fun.
By the time everyone had gone home and baby was in bed, all we could do was lay on the sofa and eat chocolate - hard life!
Since then we've had brithday parties, friends around and shopping, although the latter wasn't as fun as I'd imagined. After days of excitement and chaos baby was a little off colour the day we picked to go the sales and because she wasn't right, I didn't really feel right shopping like a demon.
Found myself in a bit of a quandary about her food too.
Obviously she's been scoffing all sorts of goodies in the past few days, but when she's poorly, obviously hungry, but won't eat what usually tempts her, what do you do?
Asked my mate (mother of three) and she said sometimes you just have to feed them whatever they will eat.
In this case the only think I could tempt her with were mini chocolate eclairs!!
Himself was obviously horrified by his little princess eating such garbage and shook his head - but what can you do?
She's much better today though, and she's eating pretty normally again, although she's still really tired - in bed as I write this.
Even though she's 16 months old, she still scares me silly when she's anything less than 'normal'
Hey ho though, Christmas isn't over yet and there's still more fun in store for the grown -ups.
After last New Year's Eve, when we stayed in like dutiful new parents - she's off the nana and pop's this year and we're off out on the razz! - well it is my birthday.
- A 36 year-old, married, mother of one - where has my youth gone?????
