The set has been taken down, the stage is dark and Popcorn is now just a memory following months of rehearsals, toil and tears.
Judging by the audience feedback, the play was well received despite my reservations about the strong language. It must be me after all.
Tuesday night was indeed taken up with the taking down of the set and stowing the props and flats in the village hall ready for the next production. A debriefing on the play followed the physical part of the evening as it were and a short exchange of ideas on the next epic in the spring.
Next on the agenda of course is our pints, prose and poetry night which was going to be called an ‘Evening of Serendipity’ but no one could spell it so a new name has to be coined. Personally I can’t see what’s wrong with Pints, Poetry and Prose after all it does what it says on the tin. As the evening is 2nd February a title to the function ought to be given soon. I know for the sake of my (now seven) readers we’ll call it Pints, Poetry and Prose Night……. Yes seven readers at least folks. Imagine my delight when I was informed in the pub after the play that another two souls took the time to read my ramblings….I am truly humbled.
Anyway auditions are being held to ensure a balanced evening of entertainment on February 2nd and you my readers will be the first to know the calendar of events just as soon as I can reach a computer after the programme has been settled. Full details of tickets, times, venues etc., in due course.
I would like to read something on the night. I am currently reading the History of Glue and can’t put in it down you know. I will have to trawl through my archives and find something suitable methinks.
Finally I saw a policeman walking down the road the other day with a thin piece of paper and a pencil in his hand. When I asked what he was doing he said he was trying to trace someone. Actually you know I lied about that, it didn’t really happen, we all know the chances of a policeman walking down the road are pretty steep.
