All is well here Down Under - absolutely loving life and have truly settled into the Aussie lifestyle. Training is going superbly well - the sunshine really does inspire you to get out and get active. No wonder the Aussies love their sport so much.
They're not so hot on broadband and internet, so I've been a little lame at keeping up entries on this blog for no other reason than it's been hard to get on the web a lot of the time.
Pulled on the racing gear this morning for the first time since the Noosa race and am glad to report that the last few weeks' training are certainly helping get me back to winning ways.
Today's race was the Noosa Tri Club's monthly race which involved a 150m swim, 6k bike and 1500m run. Before you moan that that sounds a bit too easy, I'll tell you that you do the above three times non-stop rather than once through. It's a great idea and was thoroughly enjoyable - especially swimming immediately after running, something I'd never done before.
The club laid on a great post-race brekkie and then told me tales of how bull sharks had previously been spotted in the water we'd just swum in. Fortunately none of them came out to play today so I still have all body parts intact....
Off to the beach now for an hour-long ocean swim with fellow triathletes and hopefully a few dolphins and turtles will be in the water too. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday arvo - hope you're all enjoying the chilly November weather back home!
