More and more we are relying on the power of email; I expect the telephone will become obsolete eventually. In the restaurant we have always relied on the phone for any table bookings, but these days we have to look at our email all the time. Martin Page our Deputy Manager whiz kid has set up a system ( he also set up the new home page of The Randolph Hotel worth a visit) , so that you the client can enter the booking and sent it to me, I suppose we have to move on with the times. One thing you can draw comfort from that you get real people to serve you, I suppose one day in the future someone will make a robot that serves you, God forbid. A few years ago in America someone did build a robowaiter apparently it was a bit unruly, some things never change.
