As the opening night approaches for our production of ‘Popcorn’, nerves start fraying, a lack of confidence kicks in and general ‘what the hell am I doing this for’ remains in the thoughts. Happens every time. Many years ago, there were nearly fisticuffs around this period of rehearsing. One staunch member of the group who had the lead in a Noel Coward epic we were staging at the time was so miffed we never saw him again after the play.
However I have great faith the talents of the folk in the Kingston Bagpuize Drama Group and I just know it will be ‘alright on the night’ as they say.

Posters are printed and out on display and I must say looking at them we have come a long way since I used to knock them up with a felt tip pen.

The set only has to be dressed now and a few rough edges smoothed out as regards lines and I think we have another winner. If you are reading this you are probably gagging to know by now where to by tickets, call 01865 820605 is the answer.
Production dates again-all together- 22nd, 23rd 24th November at 8pm. Tickets are £7.

The annual dinner is now booked and deposits paid. This is a fine evening of gourmet food and wit we hold every year at some local hostelry or other. This year it is the turn of the very local Fallowfields Hotel to host this ignominious occasion, which has been compared to Oscar night by persons not knowing what they are talking about.

No other social events yet though we are bandying about the idea of another skittle night, or even darts yet.

Finally our Pints and Prose evening is coming together, with the date now fixed as the 2nd February next year and the title of the event which is to be called ‘An evening of Serendipity’. Oh my word! I may comment further when I’ve looked it up as to what it means. Full details of course as and when.
