For the first time I seem to have a painful injury I cannot shake in a couple of weeks and am not sure what to do.
The arch of my foot becomes very sore if I try to run and I can feel all the fitness I have built up in the past 12 months literally just draining away.
I need to be strong and make sure I put in extra time at the pool or on my bike but it doesn't seem to be that easy.
Throwing on the trainers and having a 30 minute run is so simple whereas the others seem to require more planning and on the bike you have to ride the gauntlet or Oxford's rubbish drivers trying to maim or kill you at every turn.
Still - Center Parcs next week so I won't have any excuse for not doing a shedload of swimming.
Hopefully when I return I can get back to running and build the fitness back in time for the Council Christmas Fun Run round Christchurch Meadow on December 12. It's an important marker for me in a sad ex-smoker with new OCD kind of way.
