Readers may well have heard of the Baghdad Blogger, who risks his life to report online from the hellhole we've managed to create in Iraq, and whose aim in life is to portray the true picture of what is really happening in that country free of political distortion.
However, more importantly, if similarly named, you may be less familiar than you should be with the Oxford Blagger, who also exposes himself to similar perils, fearlessly reporting back from strife-torn Oxford.
His main quest in life, rather than to report back impartially, is to attend do's, functions and openings, be it restaurants, art galleries or theatre shows, where he can get his greedy little mitts on free food, drink, and entertainment, and then be rude about them.
So far he has managed to attend recently art openings at Modern Art Oxford, the Living Room and Pizza Express openings at the new castle complex, a jazz night at the Wheatsheaf, ballet at the New Theatre, panto at the Playhouse, not to mention holidays in Romania and Boulogne. About all of which I, I mean he, has managed to find something gratuitously offensive to say.
So if you feel like extending the warm hand of friendship, I know just the man to bite it: the Oxford Blagger.
