A dedicated Oxford employee has been honoured with an award.

Laurence May, who has worked for many months at Oxford Head Injury Services in Kennington, Oxford, won the category for Unpaid Carer at the Celebrating Excellence in Neurological and Complex Care Awards, held in London on October 27.

The awards, sponsored by Care Talk magazine, recognised and celebrated excellence in neurological and complex care.

Mr May began volunteering full-time with the charity after his wife, Amy, became a beneficiary of its support.

Laurence was accompanied by his wife Amy who has been a beneficiary of the charity for some time and was the reason why Laurence stepped as a full time volunteer at the charity.

The awards recognise accomplishments across the health and social care workforce, encompassing acute, residential and community care providers, clinicians and therapists, volunteers, and suppliers of innovative products, equipment, and services.
