A Chinese takeaway in Oxfordshire has been told that its hygiene needs “major improvement”.
New Dragon House on Black Bourton Road in Carterton was visited by West Oxfordshire District Council’s Environmental Health team on Tuesday, October 29.
Inspectors were far from impressed with what they found at the site and handed the business a shocking one-out-of-five food hygiene rating, stating “major improvement” was necessary.
The biggest issue at the takeaway was the team’s management of food safety which also was deemed to require “major improvement”.

This refers to having a system or checks in place to ensure that the food sold or served is safe to eat and if there is evidence that staff know about food safety.
It also concerns whether or not the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future.
Another problem was New Dragon House’s cleanliness and condition of both the facilities and building which also needed “improvement”.
This includes having an appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control to enable good food hygiene.
