The Christmas lights switch-on boasted a full day of fun free festive activities for the family in Carterton.
In a break from tradition, the town hosted food vendors offering a variety of tasty treats, stall holders selling arts and craft plus live music from singers and musicians who entertained everyone throughout the day (Saturday November 30).
The lantern parade was led by the Halton Pipes & Drums who arrived in full regalia and built up the excitement before the Christmas lights switch-on.

Doing the honours were special guests students Alfie Crabb and Kieran Everett, who recently received the King’s Award for Voluntary Service.
In 2020 they set up the Carterton Community College Service Club to give extra support to students from military families during times when parents are deployed, away from home, or when new students join the school after families are posted to the area.
The club is a key part of the school, which includes many students with parents serving at RAF Brize Norton in the town, providing emotional and well-being support, additional reading and numeracy intervention, personal development opportunities, and a communal space for service students to spend time together.
