An Oxfordshire primary school’s kid’s club has been criticised in a recent hygiene inspection.
Dunmore Kid’s Club which is hosted at Dunmore Primary School on Northcourt Road in Abingdon was visited on Thursday, October 3.
Vale of White Horse District Council’s Environmental Health team were left unimpressed with the standards during their visit, awarding a lowly two-out-of-five food hygiene rating.
“Improvement” was deemed necessary at the venue with one key area outlined as a major hygienic problem.

The cleanliness and condition of both the facilities and building required “necessary” improvement during the inspection.
This includes having an appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control to enable good food hygiene.
Despite the other problems, the inspector on the day did class Dunmore Kid’s Club’s hygienic handling of food to be of a “good” standard.
This includes the preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage of food served at the site.

Similarly, the same rating was attributed to the management of food safety which covers whether there is a system or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat.
It also concerns whether there is evidence that staff know about food safety and if the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future
Dunmore Primary School has been approached for comment.
