Blenheim Palace is set to welcome children for a Peter Pan-themed experience this Christmas.
The palace near Woodstock will be inviting families to enjoy themed activities inspired by the "magic of Neverland" at its Adventure Play area over the festive period.
The area will be open until January 1 and will allow children to "immerse themselves in the magic" of J.M. Barrie’s classic story.
Children will be able to earn an Adventure Play badge after completing the Neverland storyboard activities, which aim to "bring Barrie’s famous characters to life," the palace said.
Blenheim Palace added the Adventure Play area is designed for "inquisitive minds and vivid imaginations" and has tunnels, bridges, cargo nets, and hidden chambers for children to explore.
J.M. Barrie, the author of Peter Pan, gave the rights to his story to Great Ormond Street Hospital in 1929.
The Darlings’ family home in the story drew inspiration from the author's own lodgings, located near the hospital.
His donation has supported the care of seriously ill children at the children's hospital over the years.
The Peter Pan-themed activities at Blenheim Palace are part of a partnership between Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and the palace, the aim of which is to "bring the timeless story of Peter Pan to life" and to provide support to children at the hospital.
Heather Carter, managing director of visitor attraction at Blenheim Palace, said: "We are thrilled to bring the magic of Neverland to Adventure Play this Christmas.
"It’s a unique opportunity for families to create unforgettable memories whilst celebrating the wonder of the timeless story of Peter Pan.
"It’s also a privilege to highlight the legacy of Barrie’s generosity, which continues to support Great Ormond Street Hospital and the incredible work they do."
After visiting Adventure Play, families can browse the Neverland-themed shop, where they will be able to buy coasters, Christmas tree decorations, and mugs featuring Peter Pan, Wendy, Tinkerbell, Captain Hook, and Croc.
Adventure Play at Blenheim Palace is currently operating winter opening hours, from Friday to Sunday.
During the school holidays, from December 23 to January 3, it will be open throughout the week.
A Palace and Play Pass is £150 for a family of four - two adults and two children - while individual day passes cost £50 per adult and £40 per child.
Existing family annual pass holders can upgrade to the new Palace and Play Pass for £51, and individual annual passes can be upgraded for £18 per child and £12 per adult.
