A car driver has been hospitalised following a crash with a lorry near a roundabout.

The incident happened at around 4pm yesterday (Tuesday, November 26) on B4009 Watlington Road in Benson near Wallingford.

A collision between a lorry and a car near the roundabout resulted in the car driver being taken to hospital.

Officers say that the motorist’s injuries were minor while the lorry driver did not require hospital treatment.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “A lorry and a car were involved in the collision.

“The driver of the car sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital.”

Police had said yesterday that motorists to find alternative routes and stay away from the area while emergency services attended the scene.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said on Tuesday: “The B4009 Watlington Road, Benson is currently closed between Castle Square and Crown Lane whilst we deal with a road traffic collision.

“Please find an alternative route.”
