An award-winning thriller starring an Oxford-born actress is heading to streaming services in the UK and USA.
The Imposters, an independent film with an all-female cast led by Oxford-born Marie Everett, is set to hit streaming platforms in January.
The film, which has had a successful run at film festivals, is a multi-award-winning LGBTQ thriller from British independent filmmaker, Nicholas Winter.
Ms Everett, known for her roles in 'What Happened To Monday' and 'Star Wars: Origins', leads the cast alongside Chynna Walker, Amanda Michaud, Tegan Mordt, and Julia Haworth.
Speaking about working with Mr Winter, she said: "I definitely had much more of a role in the development of this character than anyone else I've ever played, which was amazing.
"I found it really helped with the performance."
The film follows Maya, played by Ms Everett, who meets the enigmatic Hattie following a split from her long-term girlfriend Anna.
The pair take a trip to Spain where things quickly unravel and Maya realises all is not as it seems and Hattie is not being entirely truthful.
The Imposters has picked up 14 award wins, including Best LGBT Feature Film, Best Lead Actress, and Best Supporting Actress at the 2023 Five Continents International Film Festival.
Film Threat’s Bobby LePire gave the film a nine out of 10, calling it "a thriller that toys with the truth in fun ways".
