Oxfordshire residents have the chance to vote for local carers as part of a campaign celebrating their work this Christmas.

Online care finder Lottie is launching its annual pledge to celebrate carers with a giveaway of three £250 Airbnb vouchers.

Nominations are open to the public, encouraging everyone to spotlight the work of their local care heroes.

Will Donnelly, co-founder and CEO of Lottie, said: "Our research has found that 7.3 million people in the UK have caregiving responsibilities - that’s equivalent to one in 10 of the population.

"Many face financial strain, especially unpaid carers, who are expected to be out of pocket by over £2,000 this Christmas.

"Amid workforce shortages, carers are under immense pressure. That’s why we're excited to launch our Carers Christmas Giveaway 2024 and encourage the nation to get behind it.

"We urge carers across the country to share their stories and experiences, nominate themselves or a fellow carer, and help us shine a light on the vital role they play."

Lottie is also launching its 'A Carer's Christmas' campaign to highlight the "invaluable contributions" of carers across the country.
