Power cuts are effecting homes across Oxfordshire and the southeast, likely caused by weather conditions associated with Storm Bert.

Scottish and Southern Electricity Network (SSEN) has reported outages in areas as diverse as Faringdon, Kiddington, North Leigh and Wantage

Smaller power cuts have happened near Fairford and East Hagbourne.

It comes amid disruptions across the county caused by the storm with yellow weather warnings in place from the Met Office for heavy rainfall and strong winds.

SSEN states: "We are aware of a fault causing customers in the area to be without power.

"We expect the cause of this to be strong winds and heave rain Storm Bert is bringing across our network.

"We've been tracking this weather for several days and have additional teams on hand to respond.

"It's possible that either wind or rain has caused damage to our network and our teams will need to repair this as and when it's safe to do so."
