Blenheim Palace has cancelled all of its Christmas events today due to weather conditions caused by Storm Bert.

The Woodstock palace issued a closure notice today informing visitors that its winter activities would be closed today (Saturday, November 23).

It comes as Storm Bert hits the UK this weekend, causing weather warnings for rain and wind across Oxfordshire.

The Palace wrote: "Due to today's adverse weather conditions, ALL Christmas events at Blenheim Palace will be closed.

"We are monitoring the forecast for Sunday 24th November, and will update our website and social media.

"Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused."

The closed attractions include entry to the palace, a Christmas light trail and market, and Great Skate, the ice rink which opened just this week.

It also said that the house's ticket provider, Ticketek, will contact customers later today to offer them the chance to rebook Christmas tickets for another time.

Advice has been issued on power cuts, flooding protocols, and driving in the strong winds and rain which are forecast.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the county this weekend.
