Police officers have been carrying out patrols in south Oxfordshire following several thefts at popular beauty spots.

The incident crime response team one officers from Didcot have been carrying out patrols at locations along the ridgeway, which is a National Trail.

Police said these locations include White Horse Hill and Wayland’s Smithy.

An officer patrolling (Image: Thames Valley Police) Police say there have been "several incidents" where valuables have been stolen from vehicles parked in its rural force areas, which are referred to as "beauty spot thefts". 

Thames Valley Police said these incidents are a "priority for our local officers".

The force added: "Please ensure all of your valuables are hidden from sight and your vehicle is locked when out enjoying the local countryside."
