Areas to the north of the county around Banbury saw the heaviest covering with buses cancelled and schools announcing emergency closures or delaying opening.

Temperatures today are set to drop as low as minus three with warnings of possible travel disruption in a swathe of central England.

A yellow warning has been issued for snow and ice in parts of the north, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Oxford Mail reporters, our Camera Club members and many readers have been out and about capturing pictures of the snowy scenes.
