There will be a Christmas carol service in Witney next month.

Witney Town Council has announced the mayor's Christmas carol service will take place at St Mary's Church.

The event, hosted by the mayor of Witney, Councillor Owen Collins, will be held on Wednesday, December 6, at 7pm.

Attendees can look forward to readings, live music from the Witney Town Band, and performances by the West Oxfordshire Academy of Performing Arts (WOAPA).

The service is free, but there will be a collection for the church and the mayor's chosen charities.

A Witney Foodbank donation point will also be available for food and drink contributions to help those in need this winter.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a tinned food item, though it is not mandatory.
