Police have provided an update on a man who was "crushed by machinery" at an Oxfordshire museum.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 12 as Thames Valley Police was called to Didcot Railway Centre on Station Road in Didcot.

A volunteer worker at the centre had a work-related incident which resulted in serious injuries and required an air ambulance to take him to hospital.

“There were loads of police cars and ambulances at Didcot Railway Centre,” said an anonymous rail worker.

“A person got crushed by machinery at the centre and was airlifted to hospital.”

Police have now provided an update on the man's condition and confirmed that he remains in hospital this weekend.

Liberal Democrat Didcot and Wantage MP Olly Glover said: “I'm very sad to hear about it. I wish the person all the best for their recovery.

"The Didcot Railway Centre is a fantastic local amenity.

"It's really good for tourism and the history of the area so hopefully they will look into what's happened and learn from it.”
