Parking restrictions will go ahead in parts of east Oxford, Iffley and Woodstock following approval at an Oxfordshire County Council meeting.
At the Delegated Decisions by Cabinet Member for Transport Management meeting on Thursday (November 14), Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs) were approved in parts of Iffley and Rose Hill by Andrew Gant, cabinet member for transport management.
Mr Gant approved CPZs for Iffley Village and Rose Hill shops, but the decision on Iffley Borders, a section of the village to the south east, and the residential area in Rose Hill has been deferred.
This followed concerns raised by numerous councillors and members of the community.

Labour county councillor Trish Elphinstone raised concerns about the consultation response to Iffley Borders and Rose Hill residential areas.
Ms Elphinstone said: "The results from the consultation from the consultation and our survey shows most residents in Iffley Borders and Rose Hill are against the implementation of the CPZs.
"The views expressed in Iffley Village are very different to the views expressed in Iffley border.
She added: "It's an unnecessary cost that cannot be afforded by many people in these communities.
"CPZs can be a good thing when they are wanted and needed. But in Rose Hill and Iffley borders this is not the case."
Brad Baines, county councillor for Iffley, echoed this and said that parking restrictions for Iffley Borders should not go ahead.
He added that the consultation findings show that residents in the Iffley border do not feel that parking is a problem in their area.
He also noted that concerns were raised in the consultation about parking at the church or village hall being impacted, which are "key community assets".
City councillor deputy leader Ed Turner raised concerns that the CPZs in Rose Hill would be "solving a problem that doesn't really exist".
He also echoed Mr Baines' concerns about the Church and Village Hall, describing them as the "centre of Iffley community life".
Mr Gant said: "CPZs are a good thing, they have been well used in many many places.
"They safeguard immunity for residents.
"It does not do harm to residents - it does exactly the opposite - it brings benefit to residents.
"Road space is a public good maintained by publicly for the public benefit.
"They work - it is a well tried and well tested policy."

For Iffley, the approval included further consultation on proposals to include Annora Close, Cordrey Green, Fitzherbert Close, West View and Villiers Lane for the eligibility to apply for permits.
In Woodstock, Mr Gant approved the introduction of paid parking bays and double yellow lines on roads.
The approvals included the introduction of paid parking bays - with exemptions for permit holders - in areas of Cockpit Close, the introduction of dual-purpose parking bays on New Road and the introduction of double yellow lines in sections of Cockpit Close, Rectory Lane and New Road.
This follows a formal consultation, which received 14 responses to its online survey, demonstrating mixed views on different measures.
