A gallery near Banbury has called for artists to submit their work before this week’s deadline to be included in an open exhibition later this month.
The Heseltine Gallery in Chenderit School, in Middleton Cheney near Banbury, is a volunteer-run organisation which hosts an annual showcase of professional and emerging artists in Oxfordshire and south Northamptonshire.
Artists are invited to submit three pieces of work through the online submission portal before this Sunday (November 17) which should be taken to the gallery in the following days.

Work in all mediums is welcomed by organisers as the award-winning gallery describes the exhibition as an “opportunity to see and buy work from artists working in a wide variety of media.”
Sue Caverhill, secretary of Friends of Heseltine Gallery, said: “The gallery has been open since 2003 and its remit is not only to provide high quality art exhibitions for visitors for the general public and school, but for the benefit of local artists, as a space to show and sell their work, also to engage with visitors during ‘Meet the Artist’ days.
“We never know what is going to be submitted each year, so it’s very exciting when artists start to bring their work in.
“It’s quite a challenge to present a well-designed exhibition a few days later, but every year the results are excellent.”

Artist submissions cost £7.50, £6 for Friends of Heseltine Gallery, and submissions to the youth category from artists aged 11-18 are free.
The exhibition runs from November 24 to December 15, and is open every day except Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.
