Five years after several hundred saplings were planted in Oxford, a "thriving" community woodland is set to be celebrated.
Many of the trees, planted at Croft Road Recreation Ground in New Marston, are now several feet tall.
The celebration will take place on Saturday, November 16, between 2pm and 4pm, and will feature tea, cake, and "an opportunity to do some mulching".
The trees were planted by the local community with the support of Marston Community Gardening, Oxford Friends of the Earth, and Oxford City Council.
Speaking in 2019, Alistair Morris from Marston Community Gardening said: "The trees will benefit wildlife, enhance the area, increase biodiversity, act as clean air lungs for the city, and help combat climate change by trapping carbon."
