Controversial plans for a Chinese takeaway to convert into a restaurant have been permitted.
Avtar Singh applied to convert the Green Bamboo on the corner of Botley Road and Earl Street.
Botley residents feared the change could lead to an increase in traffic and noise pollution.
A total of 10 objections were submitted with one in support.
However, Oxford City Council planning officer permitted the scheme on November 8 using delegated powers.

In the planning officers' report, it said: “The council considers that the proposal accords with the policies of the development plan as summarised below.
"It has taken into consideration all other material matters, including matters raised in response to consultation and publicity.
"Any material harm that the development would otherwise give rise to can be offset by the conditions imposed.
“Officers have considered carefully all objections to these proposals.
"Officers have come to the view, for the detailed reasons set out in the officers' report, that the objections do not amount, individually or cumulatively, to a reason for refusal and that all the issues that have been raised have been adequately addressed and the relevant bodies consulted.”
In the application's planning statement, it said: “The proposed layout makes an efficient use of the land and provides four bike spaces for the proposed restaurant.
“The layout of the site ensures that the new development has no adverse impact such as overlooking, overshadowing, loss of privacy, etc. on the adjacent properties.
“The style of proposed extension is based on traditional design using traditional building materials such as brickwork to match existing, windows to match surrounding.”
