Castle Quay shopping centre has raised more than £2,000 for charity this year.
The Banbury centre held multiple school uniform pop-up shops and arranged a team sponsored 25-mile walk from Banbury to Oxford.
These efforts raised £1,750 for The Sunshine Centre, which offers practical help, advice, guidance, and emotional support to families, and £400 for Banbury Uniform Exchange, a community project which gives parents access to free and sustainable uniforms.
The pop-up shops were organised to encourage parents to redistribute school uniforms they no longer needed, so other families could use them.
Families dropped off washed and wearable clothes at the centre’s customer service desk and a temporary shop was then created in the centre and filled with the public’s donations.
The shops, described as a "resounding success" by Oliver Wren, centre director at Castle Quay, operated on a take what you need, give what you can basis.
The sponsored walk took place on August 22 and saw the centre management team trek 25 miles along the canal, from Castle Quay to Oxford.
Mr Wren added: "We’re immensely proud to support The Sunshine Centre and Banbury Uniform Exchange.
"The team walk was challenging, but we were determined to reach our goal of 25 miles.
"A big thank you to everyone that has donated to either cause, we are hugely grateful.”
