Two people have been arrested at the M40 Welcome Break services near Oxford.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning when Thames Valley Police (TVP) officers PC Wheeler and PS Maris stopped a vehicle at the service station on Thame Road.

TVP said that both the occupants and the vehicle were searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act and a substantial amount of cannabis was located in the vehicle.

Both of the occupants were subsequently arrested but officers later found out that the driver was also outstanding for a serious assault which occurred in Nottingham.
