The latest court cases in Oxford Magistrates' Court:

TYRIL OCHIELA, 26, of Chatham Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to possession of a class B drug, namely cannabis on September 2, in Oxford. He must pay costs of £85, a victim surcharge of £32 and a fine of £80. An order was also made for the drugs to be destroyed. 

NEOKLID DEMIRAJ, 33, of Wolsey Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to drink and drug driving in a VW Golf on Banbury Road, Oxford, on February 16 this year. He must pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £114. He was also given a community order and must complete 130 hours of unpaid work within 12 months. Demiraj also got a driving ban of 30 months. 

NAVNEET SINGH, 43, of Read Place, Ambrosden, pleaded guilty to drink driving on the A34 at Weston on the Green on June 11. Singh was banned from the road for 32 months, which can be reduced by 32 weeks if a course is completed by August 29 2026. Singh must also complete 80 hours of unpaid work within 12 months, pay costs of £500 and a victim surcharge of £114. 

DAMIEN PAINTIN, 35, of Rymers Lane, Oxford, pleaded guilty to five counts of theft from shops in Oxford, committed between August last year and May this year. The total value of the items taken was £403.91. He was handed a community order and must comply with instructions of the responsible officer to attend appointments for a maximum of 15 days. He must also pay compensation of £138. There were no orders for costs due to limited means. 

KIEL MERRITT, 22, of Botley Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to having a kitchen knife in a public place, specifically Wantage Road in Harwell on July 14 this year. He was handed a four-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months. He must also complete rehabilitation at St Andrews Healthcare for six months and comply with orders from the responsible officer up to a maximum of: 12 days. An order was made for the knife to be destroyed and Merritt must complete 80 hours of unpaid work within 12 months. He must also pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £154. 

ION DIMA, 27, of Bridge Street, Banbury, pleaded guilty to drug driving a Fiat Brava in East Street, Fritwell, on June 5 this year. Dima was banned from driving for 36 months and must pay costs of £85, a victim surcharge of £48 and a fine of £120.
