With Oxfam's five Oxford shops expecting a surge of customers ahead of Christmas, the charity is calling on people to volunteer.
Following an Oxfam survey last year which showed a third of people would be buying second-hand Christmas gifts, the charity is preparing for a busy festive season and is asking people to donate their time to help raise money for tackling poverty and inequality.
Scott Mills, Oxfam Oxford superstore manager, said: "Christmas is one of the busiest and most wonderful times of the year at our shops and volunteers are absolutely essential to helping everything run over the festive season."
Volunteers will be asked to help with tasks such as working on the till, sorting and pricing donations, and assisting customers.
Mr Mills added: "Whatever time you have to spare, we would love to welcome more volunteers into our Oxfam shop this Christmas and into the new year.
"It’s the perfect way to gain new skills, take on a new challenge and have fun - as well as helping make a difference and raise life-saving money at a time when it’s most needed."
Volunteer marketing manager, Zara Canfield, said: "In the lead up to our busiest time of year, we would love to encourage people to consider giving the gift of a little time this Christmas to help make a difference with Oxfam."
