A parent has prayed for the recovery of a teen involved in a horror “hit-and-run” crash which has left a schoolboy in critical condition in hospital.
The incident occurred just before 8.30am on Monday, November 4 when a 17-year-old schoolboy was riding his bicycle in Banbury Road in Summertown.
He was involved in a collision with a motorcycle between the junctions of Beechcroft Road and Oakthorpe Road and the biker allegedly left the scene.
The boy has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remains in a critical condition.

Parents in the community have been offering their well-wishes for the boy’s full recovery as Thames Valley Police announced on Tuesday morning that a 14-year-old boy and a 51-year-old man, both from Oxford, have been arrested in connection with this incident and remain in police custody.
Local parent Nathan Johnston said: “My wife was pulling out of Diamond Place from the Summertown car park when the collision occurred.
“She mentioned that there was so much traffic on Banbury as there typically is at this time of morning.
“We have three boys that cycle to The Cherwell School daily, so this is a disturbing occurrence.
“Our hearts are with the boy and his family, and we are hoping and praying for his full recovery.”

Thames Valley Police is now appealing for witnesses after a 17-year-boy was seriously injured in the Summertown collision in which a motorcyclist failed to stop at the scene.
Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Tony Jenkins of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This collision has occurred on a busy stretch of the Banbury Road in the morning rush-hour and resulted in the road being closed for much of the day on Monday. It has now reopened.
“Sadly, a boy has sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
“I am appealing to anybody who witnessed the incident or who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage that has captured the collision, or the moments leading up to it, to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.

“My thoughts are with those involved in the collision and the fact a child was involved is even more distressing.”
The Oxford Mail has contacted a number of schools in the Banbury Road area.
A staff member at The Oxford Nursery Summertown said on Monday: "I did not know about it until a staff member could not get to work because of the road closure and traffic."
Banbury Road was closed for hours on Monday with a police cordon in place.
