Police have revealed why the M40 was closed yesterday for almost two hours.
Traffic was brought to a standstill on the M40 southbound near junction 11 for Banbury on Sunday, November 3.
All three lanes were closed from 5.50pm with two reopening at 7.44pm.

Jacob Brown was one of the people stuck in the traffic and said he saw three fire engines, two fire support cars, four police cars and a removal vehicle.
Thames Valley Police has now revealed why the carriageway was closed.
They said: “This was a five-vehicle collision, but thankfully, nobody was seriously injured.
“It happened at just before 5.50pm and the motorway was blocked while emergency services were at the scene.
“The motorway fully re-opened at 7.44pm.”
