James May “wouldn’t rule out” working with Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond again but has revealed why The Grand Tour ended.
The trio parted ways professionally after 22 years of working together with the finale of The Grand Tour on Friday, September 13.
Having made a name for themselves on the BBC with Top Gear, the three friends then started The Grand Tour in 2015.
The Prime Video show proved a hit but came to an end earlier this autumn with the special, One For The Road, set in Zimbabwe, Africa.

Mr May has now revealed why the show came to an end this year and did not carry on for more possible specials despite there being demand.
Speaking to Yahoo UK, the 61-year-old said: “It's sort of sad, and I know people are sad that it's over, but it couldn't go on forever, and we're all getting on a bit.
“And we exhausted the idea fairly thoroughly, I think, so it's like we quietly put it to one side rather than destroy it."
The door does remain open though as the presenter previously told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme that there is a chance the trio could work together again.
