The Hip Fracture Team at Horton General Hospital has been named one of the top in the country for the 12th year in a row.

The hospital, which is part of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, met all its best practice criteria for nearly 85 per cent of patients, while the national average is just under 48 per cent.

This performance places the team in the top five of the national tables.

The figures were published in the annual National Hip Fracture Audit, which assessed the performance of 174 hospitals in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland in 2023.

The national report revealed that 84.8 per cent of Horton General Hospital patients achieved all best practice tariff requirements, compared to the national average of 47.6 per cent.
