A consultation on a neighbourhood plan for Littlemore has been launched.

Oxford City Council is seeking public input on the proposals submitted by the Littlemore Neighbourhood Forum.

The plan outlines policies to guide development and land use in Littlemore parish for the benefit of residents.

Once approved by a local referendum, the neighbourhood plan will be a key consideration in planning decisions.

The consultation, a legal requirement under the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012, will run for six weeks, closing at 11.59pm on Monday, December 9.

Councillor Louise Upton, cabinet member for planning, said: "Neighbourhood plans give people a say in the future development of their area.

"This consultation is the next step on the road to the adoption of a neighbourhood plan for Littlemore and local residents have put a lot of time and effort into making this happen.

"I’d encourage anyone with an interest in Littlemore to take part in the consultation."

The plan's development began with an initial issues and options survey by Littlemore Parish Council in summer 2023, which received 515 responses.

Five policy groups then drafted policies to inform the plan, which was approved for public consultation in February.

Following the presubmission consultation from May 7 to June 18, minor changes were made, and the revised draft plan was approved by Littlemore Parish Council on September 10.

The city council, which has a duty to support the neighbourhood plan, provided advice during the development process, including detailed comments for consideration during the presubmission consultation.
